Dr. Zaher Nahle, PhD, MPA is an award-winning biomedical scientist, executive, and public policy expert with extensive experience in biomedical research, healthcare innovation, and science policy. He helped shape drug development reforms at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) – most notably through his work on the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 and 3.0 and bolstering New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). He serves as senior scientific advisor to the Center for a Humane Economy and Animal Wellness Action and is the founder of The Ivyctory Group, a market research and life sciences advisory firm. Dr. Nahle held many executive leadership positions at medical foundations, including as CEO, chief scientific officer, and vice president for research. Earlier in his career, he led independent research programs, was a founding investigator of an NIH-funded data management and coordinating center, published in leading journals, including Nature, and received competitive grants and awards from organizations like the American Heart Association and the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Nahle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics through the joint program of Stony Brook University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University alongside a certificate in Public Policy and Management. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, serves on numerous editorial boards and is a frequent speaker at international conferences on biomedical science, innovation, and public health.
