Dr Amer Alaya is an Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management and Programme Director at the Birmingham Business School — one of the world’s few triple crown accredited institutions. His research and practice sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and organisational resilience, with a particular focus on how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping supply chain systems, decision-making, and operational performance in complex global environments.
Dr Alaya has published in internationally ranked journals and presented at leading forums including the AI in Education Conference at the University of Oxford, where he shared insights on AI-enhanced simulation for risk management. He is a collaborator with the Oxford AI in Education Hub and has actively contributed to interdisciplinary discussions on the responsible integration of AI across education, logistics, and business operations. His work bridges foundational research and real-world application — exploring how intelligent systems, machine learning-driven analytics, and data-driven decision tools can build more agile, ethical, and future-ready organisations.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education and professional development across the UAE and GCC, Dr Alaya brings both scholarly rigour and practitioner insight to his role as Committee Member for 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning.
