Dr. Bin Zhang is a Professor-level Senior Engineer and recognized as a Provincial Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation as well as an MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) Leading Talent.Optics Valley Industry Professor, Pazhou Leading Algorithm Scientist.He is a joint Ph.D. candidate jointly supervised by Wuhan University and City University of Hong Kong. With extensive experience in both academic research and industrial applications, Dr. Zhang has led or participated in 20 provincial and ministerial-level research projects, published over 40 academic papers, authored one monograph, and holds 8 invention patents and software copyrights. His work focuses on advancing AI technologies, particularly in intelligent detection systems and brain-inspired computing, with significant contributions to object detection, medical imaging, and spatial intelligence. In addition to his research, Dr. Zhang serves as the head and chief expert of the “Intelligent Perception and Decision-Making Expert Team” under the China Association for Science and Technology, leading a team of 23 members that includes four foreign academicians, two national-level talents, and three provincial leading experts. He also holds multiple academic roles, including guest professor and doctoral/master’s supervisor at several universities, and serves as the Director and Postdoctoral Supervisor of the Hong Kong X Postdoctoral Workstation. Dr. Zhang is an active contributor to the international academic community, frequently serving as a program chair or section chair for EI-indexed conferences and as a editorial board member for several SCI and academic journals. His expertise and leadership continue to drive innovation in AI and intelligent systems, bridging academic research and practical industrial applications.
