Prof. Anat Achiron is a neurologist, neuroscientist, and entrepreneur specializing in the intersection of clinical neuroscience, vision science, and artificial intelligence. She is a Full Professor of Neurology at Tel Aviv University and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).
Prof. Achiron’s research spans neuroimmunology, neuroimaging, and functional assessment, with a long-standing focus on the optic nerve, visual pathways, and early structural biomarkers of neurological disease. She has led pioneering work integrating advanced imaging, quantitative analysis, and digital tools to better characterize subtle, preclinical changes in the nervous system.
She is the co-founder of HawkVi, a vision AI company developing structure-first, decision-support technologies that transform fundus images into interpretable, quantitative optic nerve intelligence. HawkVi’s approach emphasizes anatomical modeling, population-based normalization, and clinical transparency rather than black-box disease classification.
Prof. Achiron has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous competitive research grants and scientific awards. Her current work focuses on translating imaging science into scalable, trustworthy AI platforms for eye care and neurology.
