Osama Bin Shafaat, M.Sc., is an expert in Geoinformatics, specializing in laser scanning and remote sensing. He holds a master’s degree from Aalto University, Finland, where he focused on change detection in urban vegetation using terrestrial laser scanning and drone photogrammetry. Currently, he is a doctoral researcher at Aalto University, Finland, investigating the use of multi-temporal laser scanning and drone photogrammetry datasets for monitoring changes in urban vegetation. Osama has been involved in several EU-funded projects, including Circular Green Blocks, Quality for Roads, and Digital Carbon 2.0. His research contributes to sustainable urban planning, urban vegetation monitoring, and environmental conservation, highlighting the potential of geospatial technologies in addressing societal challenges
