Yiannis Vardaxoglou is the Academic Dean and Professor at the School of Microelectronics, South China University of Technology. He received his PhD from the University of Kent, UK, and joined Loughborough University in 1988, where he became Professor of Wireless Communications in 1998 and served as Dean from 2006 to 2012. He founded the Wireless Communications Research Group (WiCR) and the Centre for Mobile Communications Research (CMCR). His research focuses on metamaterials and additive manufacturing for RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave engineering. Professor Vardaxoglou has led major EPSRC-funded projects, published over 500 papers, holds six patents, and has played leading roles in IET and IEEE Antennas and Propagation communities.
