Shi Jing holds dual PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University (2004) and Materials Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing (1998), where she also earned her B.E. degree. She is an active researcher in additive manufacturing, materials processing, and smart manufacturing systems. Her work has been supported by federal, state, and industry funding from agencies including the National Science Foundation, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, NIST, and industry partners. She has served as principal investigator and collaborator on numerous multidisciplinary projects and has published extensively in leading journals on additive manufacturing, metamaterials, and advanced materials processing.
