Hao-Chung Kuo is a Taiwanese scientist and Chair Professor in the Department of Photonics at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), where he also serves as Director of the Semiconductor Research Center for Hon Hai Research Institute. He earned his B.S. in Physics from National Taiwan University, an M.S. from Rutgers University, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His career includes research positions at Agilent Technologies and LuxNet Corporation before joining NYCU as faculty in 2002. Kuo is internationally known for his work in III-V semiconductor devices and GaN-based optoelectronics, including contributions to electrically pumped GaN VCSEL technology. He has published hundreds of papers, holds numerous patents, and is a Fellow of IEEE, OSA, SPIE, IET, and IAAM.
