Prof. Dr. Nezar Hassan Khdary is a Professor of Nanochemistry at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). His research focuses on synthesizing nanomaterials for environmental, energy, and medical applications, with emphasis on air and water pollution control, ultra-trace analytical methods, and high‑efficiency nanocatalysts. He earned his PhD in 2006 from the University of Southampton (UK), where he developed silica nano‑scavengers for detecting environmental pollutants, and later served as a visiting researcher at Northwestern University (2012) and the University of Central Florida (2016). He is also a certified Public Health Consultant by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He has delivered numerous keynotes worldwide and serves as an editor and reviewer for journals including Talanta, Polymer International, and Green Chemistry. His memberships include the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC, CChem), the American Chemical Society, the Saudi Chemical Society, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the Saudi Computer Society. His recognitions include the University of Southampton Prize in Nano‑Chemistry, a Fulbright Award, and the Singapore Cooperation Programme Certificate. He has led and collaborated on projects in nanotechnology applications, carbon capture and utilization, and water quality assessment. He has published more than 60 articles and holds 13 patents.
