Lulu Wang is an internationally recognised expert in non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. She is a Full Professor at Reykjavík University, a Visiting Professor at the Mayo Clinic, and a Professor Extraordinarius at the University of South Africa. Her research spans electromagnetic sensing and imaging, AI-driven healthcare, and biomedical device innovation. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Full Member of Sigma Xi, and a Professional Member of the Royal Society of New Zealand. She also serves as an official Nominator for the VinFuture Prize. Her work has been recognised with numerous prestigious honours, including the China High-End Foreign Talents Award, the Guangdong and Shenzhen High-End Foreign Talents Awards (Peacock Plan Class-B), the Jin Guofan Prize for Excellent Youth, the National Instruments Academic Research Award, and the Claude McCarthy Fellowship. Since 2021, she has consistently ranked among Stanford/Elsevier’s Top 2% Scientists globally. Dr. Wang has led the development of groundbreaking technologies, including the world’s first 144-channel holographic microwave imaging system for early breast cancer detection, a holographic electromagnetic induction imaging system for stroke diagnostics, and a suite of diagnostic and treatment devices for respiratory diseases. She has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, three books, seven edited volumes, and holds 45 granted patents—many of which have been successfully commercialised. Her leadership in over 40 international conferences and editorial contributions to more than 50 leading journals continue to shape the global scientific landscape.
