Marco Genovese works in INRIM with the qualification of Director of Research, where is leading (for 25 years) the Quantum Optics Sector and where he has been a member of the Scientific Council (2014-2023).  Member of the Academy of Science of Turin. His works concern the development of quantum technologies in quantum optics, in particular having given significant contributions to the birth of experimental quantum metrology-imaging & sensing, most significant: Nv centers-ODMR measurements in neurons, sub shot noise imaging, quantum illumination, quantum-enhanced correlation interferometry, characterisation of detectors POVM, sequential weak and protective measurements, quantum reading, innovative QKD schemes,…He published over 300 papers, more than 200 on JCR journals (H index GS 54).
