Prof. Dr. Mohamed El‑Tanani is the Vice President for Research & Postgraduate Studies at Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU), UAE. He also holds the distinguished Anniversary Chair in Molecular Pathology and serves as Deputy Director of the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics at the University of Bradford, UK. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool in 1997, followed by five years of postdoctoral research focused on the molecular biology of breast cancer and metastasis. In 2002, he began his academic career at Queen’s University Belfast as a Lecturer and has since held senior roles at both Bradford and RAKMHSU.

Prof. El‑Tanani’s research is dedicated to understanding tumor progression and metastasis, with a particular focus on the roles of osteopontin (OPN) and Ran GTPase in cancer dissemination. His work aims to track metastatic spread, uncover molecular mechanisms, and develop reliable biomarkers for disease prognosis. With an impressive academic output, he has authored more than 262 journal articles, presented over 400 conference papers, and holds 30 patents. He also serves on the editorial boards of several top-tier cancer journals and is a frequent peer reviewer.

In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. El‑Tanani is a sought-after consultant for major pharmaceutical and technology companies, including Intel and Applied Materials. He has also held positions on the boards of various industry alliances. Internationally recognized for his contributions, he is often invited to speak at global symposia and is acknowledged as one of Jordan’s leading researchers in the natural sciences. Through his translational research, Prof. El‑Tanani continues to bridge academia and practical application, advancing innovations in cancer diagnosis and therapy.
