Georgia Fargetta is a researcher at the University of Catania (Italy), within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Image Processing Laboratory (IPLab). Her research focuses on artificial intelligence and computer vision, with interests in biometrics, multimodal learning, and open-set classification, addressing the analysis of complex and unconstrained visual data. She also works on optimization and game-theoretic models for complex systems, applied to sustainability and emergency management. She received the Young Women in Operational Research Award, and her doctoral thesis was recognized with a doctoral thesis award.
