Demetrios Chiuratto Agourakis is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of medicine, computational science, pharmacology, biomaterials, and epistemic computing. He is affiliated with São Leopoldo Mandic – Faculdade de Medicina and Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Brazil, and has developed research combining biomedical sciences with advanced computational approaches. His research interests include uncertainty quantification, scientific computing, systems programming, artificial intelligence, medical modeling, and the integration of knowledge representation into computational systems. He is the author of research on Sounio: A Systems Programming Language for Epistemic Computing with Hardware-Aware Uncertainty Propagation, a project focused on making uncertainty, confidence, and data provenance fundamental elements of scientific computation.

Agourakis’ work explores how computational tools can better represent uncertainty in fields such as clinical science, pharmacology, and complex biomedical systems. His approach combines concepts from programming languages, mathematical modeling, and scientific methodology to improve reliability and transparency in high-consequence computing.
