Dr. Juhua Luo is a Research Fellow at the Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Science Laboratory, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She specializes in remote sensing of lakes and wetlands, focusing on lake–watershed processes, aquatic vegetation, and water quality dynamics. She earned her Ph.D. from Beijing Normal University and has been with the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2012, including a visiting scholarship at the University of South Florida, USA. Her research integrates satellite, UAV, and hyperspectral data to study algal blooms, carbon dynamics, and inland water ecosystems. Dr. Luo has led several national and provincial research projects as Principal Investigator. She has published widely in high-impact journals such as Science of the Total Environment and Remote Sensing of Environment. Her work has received multiple awards, including the First Prize of the Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023.
