Greg Tharp is an experienced librarian with over 20 years in the field. He has an extensive academic and professional background spanning library science, law, acquisitions, and contract management. Tharp earned a Paralegal Certificate from Boston University (United States), a Master’s Certificate in Acquisition and Contract Management from American Graduate University (United States), and an Advanced Certificate in Archives Management from Simmons University (United States). He also holds a Master of Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University (United States) and a Bachelor of Science from Sacred Heart University (United States), where he was elected to Phi Eta Sigma and received the Passion for Learning Award. In addition to his academic qualifications, Tharp holds a Certificate of Professional Librarianship from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (United States). He is also a licensed Pharmacy Technician in both Massachusetts and New York (United States). Tharp has further strengthened his expertise through specialized training in acquisitions at the Defense Acquisition University, the Federal Acquisition Institute, and the University of Virginia (United States). He has also completed human resources training at HR University and legal training at New England Law Boston (United States). An active contributor to his field, Tharp has authored articles on commercial government contracts in the Contracting Excellence Journal and has presented on government contracts at the Naval Postgraduate School Acquisition Research Symposium (United States). He has written books on commercial government contracts and website reviews, both published by Eliva Press. Additionally, he co-authored an article on Chinese academic libraries in the Library Hi Tech journal, presented on virtual reality in academic libraries at the Library Research Seminar VII, and published library website reviews in Tech Services Quarterly.
