Catarina is a mother, sister, and friend of Métis and German ancestry, raised in Quebec and now
living on unceded Coast Salish Territories. She is Executive Director of Telmexw Awtexw Healing
Centre, which blends traditional cultural healing with clinical approaches. She holds master’s
degrees in medical rehabilitation and clinical psychology, specializing in harmful substance use.
Catarina has extensive experience in corrections and child and family services, including caregiving,
program development, and advocacy. Deeply connected to the impacts of colonization, she has long
supported individuals on their healing journeys through both personal and professional work.
