Dr. Mark Orsag is Professor of European and Interdisciplinary History at Doane University. His BA is from Carnegie-Mellon University, his MA from Pennsylvania State University and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. At Doane, he is a highly-decorated teacher and has served as Honors Program Director, History Department Chair and Social Science Division Chair. Dr. Orsag has over 70 academic publications/presentations. His scholarship involves transdisciplinary team-based projects mixing history and health science. In January 2025, Dr. Orsag’s interdisciplinary research was nationally recognized by the American Historical Association’s newsletter Perspectives for helping broaden the definition of the discipline of history.
