Prof. Dr. Onno C.P. van Schayck is Professor of Preventive Medicine at Maastricht University and Scientific Director of the CaRe Research School, a collaboration of CAPHRI, RIHS, APH and NIVEL. He is principal investigator of numerous research projects, has supervised over 86 PhD candidates, and published nearly 640 international articles. He has served on the Health Council of the Netherlands, advisory councils of ZonMw and the Lung Foundation, and The Lancet Global Commission on Pollution, Health and Development, and is an Honorary Professor in Edinburgh.
