Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, also known as ISLAM Muhammad Fakhrul and 孫逸仙 (Sun Yat-sen), is a Bangladeshi-born naturalized Chinese citizen based in Hong Kong. He is an entrepreneur, researcher, humanitarian, and community leader with extensive contributions to business, social welfare, cultural exchange, and civic engagement.
He is the President of the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center and founder of Asian Club Limited and the Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Foundation. He is also active in Hong Kong public service as a Yau Tsim Mong South Area Committee Member and Care Team Member.
Dr. Islam holds degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, international trade, and leadership-related disciplines. His recent research focuses on mental health stigma, emotional well-being, and social psychology in Bangladesh.
A dedicated humanitarian and Rotary leader, he has received several honors, including the Service Above Self Award, Human Rights Award, and Icon of Change Award. Through his work in research, philanthropy, business, and public service, he continues to promote intercultural understanding, social development, and community well-being.
