Biography

PhD Smiljana Paraš is employed at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of
Banja Luka, where she holds the position of Full Professor. She has been a lecturer at the University
of Banja Luka for 27 years in the fields of Cell Biology and Histology. For more than twenty years,
she has been successfully engaged in stereological and cytological analyses of animal tissues treated
with biocompatible materials. She has published over ninety scientific papers, forty of which have
appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals indexed in major scientific databases. She has served as
both a coordinator and participant in national and international research projects. Smiljana Paraš has
been married for thirty years and is the mother of two successful university students.
