Prof.  Elizane  Efigenia de Moraes is a Professor at the Institute of Physics of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Brazil, and a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow. She leads the IEMANJA Research Group, where she develops computational approaches to investigate nanomaterials, water confined at the nanoscale, membrane transport, anquantum/computational methods applied to materials science. Her research combines density functional theory, molecular dynamics, QM/MM approaches, machine learning, and quantum computing tools to understand the interaction between wate an lowdimensional materials, including graphene, h-BN, MoS₂, nanocones, nanotubes gold-based systems, an  nanoporous membranes. Her current research also include industry-oriented studies on desalination, focusing on the design and optimization of  nanostructured membranes for water purification and sustainable technologies. Prof.  Moraes has published several scientific articles in computational materials science nanotechnology, and molecular modeling, and has contributed to national and international collaborations involving two-dimensional materials, water interfaces, quantum simulations, and industrial applications in desalination.
