Biography :

Binwu Ying (Professor / Chief Laboratory Technologist, Doctoral Supervisor) is Chang Jiang Scholar Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, Chief Scientist of the National Science and Technology Major Project. He currently serves as Assistant to the Hospital President and Director of the Department of Science and Technology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University; Director of the Clinical Laboratory Medicine Research Center, West China Hospital; Director of the Sichuan Provincial Clinical Research Center for Medical Laboratory Science. He is Vice President of the Chinese Association of Laboratory Physicians, Chair of the CACA Society of Clinical Oncology Laboratory Testing and Companion Diagnostics, Standing Committee Member of the 11th Committee of the CMA Society of Laboratory Medicine, and Vice Chair of the Laboratory Medicine Continuing Education Committee of the National Health Commission.

His primary research focus is molecular diagnostics of infectious diseases. He has led more than 30 national and provincial/ministerial research projects, including the National Science and Technology Major Project and National Natural Science Foundation programs, with cumulative research funding exceeding 60 million RMB. He has published more than 300 papers, including 191 SCI-indexed papers, with a cumulative Impact Factor of 1,196, over 10,300 non-self citations, and an H-index of 52. He holds 10 national invention patents and has received multiple scientific awards, including two First Prizes of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He has served as editor-in-chief, associate editor, or editorial board member for numerous textbooks and monographs published by the People’s Medical Publishing House, including Clinical Laboratory Management and Clinical Laboratory Medicine, as well as monographs such as Clinical Molecular Diagnostics and Principles and Applications of Immunoassays.
