Dr. Jean-Marie Vilaire is a mathematician and academic with expertise in graph theory, metric spaces, and Gromov hyperbolic spaces. He began his university studies at the Centre de Techniques de Planification et d’Économie Appliquée (CTPEA-UEH) in Haiti before receiving a scholarship to pursue advanced studies in mathematics at the University of Oriente in Cuba. He later completed doctoral studies in Mathematical Engineering at the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain. Currently, Dr. Vilaire serves as a mathematics professor and coordinator at the Faculty of Sciences of the State University of Haiti (UEH). His research focuses on the characterization of Gromov hyperbolicity in metric spaces, particularly graphs and Riemann surfaces, contributing to the advancement of modern mathematical theory and applications.
