Aldakhov Yerken Serikovich is a highly experienced civil engineer and construction expert specializing in technical and legal expertise, seismic engineering, and structural safety. He currently serves as the Director of the Center for Seismic Safety and Survey of Buildings and Structures at JSC Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture (KazNIISA), where he has been employed since 2003. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Construction from D.A. Kunaev University of Humanities, Transport and Law. He has also completed postgraduate studies at the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture and has been awarded the honorary title of Honorary Builder of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Throughout his career, Mr. Aldakhov has led and contributed to numerous major construction, seismic safety, and post-disaster assessment projects across Kazakhstan. His expertise includes structural inspections, earthquake damage assessment, disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, and technical evaluation of buildings and engineering structures. He has served as Project Manager for large-scale industrial projects, including the Hyundai passenger car manufacturing plant in Almaty, coordinated the citywide building passportization programme in Almaty, and participated in several national commissions responsible for assessing damage caused by earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters.
Mr. Aldakhov has further enhanced his professional expertise through advanced training in Japan under the JICA programme and specialised courses in Building Information Modelling (BIM), seismic isolation, GIS technologies, AutoCAD, green building standards (BREEAM/LEED), and integrated management systems. He has authored scientific publications, including Scopus-indexed research on seismic isolation and structural monitoring of high-rise buildings, and serves as a lecturer on Eurocode standards for structural design. Fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English, he continues to contribute to the advancement of resilient infrastructure, sustainable construction, and seismic engineering through research, professional practice, and international collaboration.
