Zhouyu GUAN received his MD degree in 2023 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research primarily focuses on the development, validation, and clinical translation of novel artificial intelligence tools for cardiometabolic diseases, particularly diabetes and its complications. He is involved in multi-country and inter-disciplinary collaborations on artificial intelligence for healthcare, with researchers from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the UK, the US, India, Thailand, Ghana, Brazil, Algeria, Uzbekistan, etc. He has published several papers in high-impact journals as one of the first/co-first authors, including Nature Medicine (2024/2025), The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, Nature Biomedical Engineering, The Lancet Digital Health (2025/2026), Cell Reports Medicine (2023/2025), JAMA Ophthalmology, Science Bulletin (2024/2025), and Patterns (Cell Press).
