Genxi Li, received his BA in Polymer Chem., MA in Anal. Chem., and PhD also in Anal. Chem., from the Chem. Dept. at Nanjing University, China, in 1988, 1991, and 1994, respectively. Then, he was a postdoctor in the Biochem. Dept also at this University. In 1996, he was an Asso. Prof., and from 2001, he is a full professor. He worked as a visiting scholar in the Department of Biology, Munich University in 1998; Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University in 1999, and Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacoloy, Harvard University in 2000. From 2006, he is also a Professor affiliated with the School of Life Sciences, Shanghai University. From January in 1999 to May in 2010, he was the Chair of the Biochem. Dept. at Naning University, and from November in 2008 to October in 2011, he was the Dean of the School of Life Sciences at Shanghai University. His research interests include biosensor, molecule recognition and interaction, bioelectrochemistry, nano-biotechnology, and some other related areas. He has published 320 SCI-indexed articles, 15 review papers, and has dedicated 2 books and 8 book chapters. He was the former Vice-president and Secretary-General of the Chinese Protein Society (2011-2015), and member of the Committee for Chemical Sensor, China Instrument & Control Society (2006–), member of the Council of the Biophysical Society of China (2009–2021), member of the Council of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2010–2022). He is also an Associate Editor of the journal, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, and member of the Editorial Board of several international journals.
