Simona Niculescu is Full Professor at University of Brest (France). She received her PhD in geography-remote sensing from the Université de Paris IV-Sorbonne Pari(France) in 2002. In 2015 she obtained her degree of Habilitation of Research Direction (HDR) from the University of Sorbonne-Paris. Since 2005, she is member of the LETG-Brest, 6554 CNRS, University of Brest and the European Institute for Marine Studies. Simona Niculescu, holder of a senior IUF Chair (completely research-oriented) and a Jean Monnet European Chair (also research-oriented) has about 15 years of experience in wetland (including coastal wetlands) research using Remote Sensing and Machine and Deep Learning models. She has published more than 70 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute.
