Luciano Izzo, MD, is an Associate Professor of General Surgery (MED/18) at Sapienza University of Rome and a consultant surgeon at Policlinico Umberto I. He received his MD from Sapienza University and completed specialist training in Digestive and Emergency Surgery. His academic and clinical interests focus on oncologic surgery, multimodal cancer treatment, and advanced diagnostic imaging. He has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus and serves on the editorial boards of international scientific journals. He is actively involved in undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist medical education.
