Patrick Eldin received his PhD from the University of Montpellier (France) in 1992. He worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at Sanofi-Diagnostic Pasteur (Chaska, MN, USA) and the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN, USA) (1995–1997). In 1997, he moved back to the University of Montpellier and was promoted to CR1 CNRS in 1999 working on Malaria. He is currently a CRHC CNRS at IRIM, where his research topics mainly include host/pathogen relationships, RNA viruses, and epitranscriptomics.
