Michael Bukrinsky, MD, PhD, received his MD from the Second Moscow Medical School and his PhD from the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology in Moscow, USSR. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is currently a Professor of Microbiology, Immunology, and Tropical Medicine and serves as Director of the Developmental Core of the DC Center for AIDS Research. Dr. Bukrinsky’s research focuses on HIV pathogenesis, inflammation, and viral protein–mediated immune dysregulation. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Open AIDS Journal and as a Section Editor for Vaccines.
