Prof Zilungile Mkhize-Kwitshana is a C2 NRF-rated medical scientist with a PhD in Immunology. She is currently an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Sciences and Immunologist at UNISA, and Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg. With over 14 years in public health service and extensive academic experience, she has published more than 100 scientific papers and led numerous research projects on immunology, co-infections, and neglected tropical diseases. She holds national leadership roles, including appointments to the National Health Research Ethics Council and the National Health Research Committee.
