Shangfei Song is an Associate Professor at China University of Petroleum, Beijing, and serves as the Deputy Head of the Department of Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering. His research focuses on intelligent simulation of oil & gas storage and transportation, multiphase flow simulation and flow assurance in oil-gas mixed transport pipelines, and natural gas hydrate science and technology. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering in September 2020, followed by postdoctoral research (2020–2022). From 2019 to 2020, he was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia, Canada, working in the research group of Professor Peter Englezos. Dr. Song has served as Principal Investigator for two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including one Young Scientists Fund and one General Program), one sub-topic of the National Science and Technology Major Project, one project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, one sub-topic of the National Key R&D Program, one General Grant of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and two university-level projects. He has published over 30 journal papers as first/corresponding author, co-authored two textbooks: *Analysis and Control of Unsteady Flow in Pipelines* and *Natural Gas Hydrate Handling Technologies*, and holds more than 10 authorized invention patents. His research achievements have been successfully applied to several oil and gas pipelines and fields, yielding significant economic and social benefits. He has received scientific awards including the Second Prize of the Marine Science and Technology Award from the China Association of Oceanic Engineering (2024) and the Chen Xuejun Youth Outstanding Paper Award from the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics.
