Dr. Yasushi Okazaki graduated from Okayama University Medical School in 1986, became board certified in cardiology, and received his PhD from Osaka University in 1995. He began his research career at RIKEN, where he led the Mouse Full-Length cDNA Project and contributed to the FANTOM project, establishing transcriptomic resources. He later served as Professor and Director of the Research Center for Genomic Medicine at Saitama Medical University. Since 2017, he has been Professor and Director of the Intractable Disease Research Center at Juntendo University. His research focuses on translational genomic medicine, integrating multi-omics approaches to improve diagnosis and therapy for mitochondrial diseases.
