We deliberately need new and innovative ideas to handle the challenges faced in present day technology. The idea of zero energy logic, Vector matrix multiplier , photonic neural networks, optical quantum computing etc have added new dimension in the field of communication and information processing. Both the binary logic and multi valued logic are being explored in this track. In digital optical computing, the optical interconnection systems are of prime importance as it creates several optical algorithms and architectures that exploits its full global interconnect capability. In this communication, a distinct effort has been put forward to reduce the architectural complexities employing all-optical tree-net architecture (OTA). It is a powerful system of single signal multiplied into different branches and sub-branches of signals and offers extra flexibility of routing . OTA can easily be constructed with the available linear and nonlinear optical components. The same structure is capable of performing multifunctional operations in both binary and multivalued domain. OTA can effectively be executed for (i) logic and arithmetic operations (ii) number conversion, (iii) encoding and decoding of information, (iv) multiplexing and demultiplexing of data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prof J N Roy has done his PhD in Physics from Vidyasagar University and has published more than 180 research papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Presently Dr. Roy is full professor in the Departmrnt of Physics and Coordinator of Centre For Organic Spintronics And Optoelectronics Devices (COSOD). He is the co-author many books and book chapter. Dr. Roy received research grant from AICTE, DST, BRNS (Govt of India). He is a Fellow member of Optical Society of India.
