He is also affiliated with the National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev, where he leads a research laboratory focused on advanced immunological studies. Prof. Gazit earned his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School’s Immune Disease Institute, where he gained extensive expertise in immunology and stem cell biology. His research primarily centers on hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which are responsible for the generation of blood and immune cells throughout life. His work explores the molecular mechanisms regulating stem cell function, self-renewal, and differentiation, with particular emphasis on how these processes are altered in disease conditions such as leukemia and immune disorders.
</oembed>
