Aytül Kasapoğlu is a Full Professor of Sociology at Başkent University, Ankara, Turkey. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Ankara University, where she served for many years as Chairperson of the Department of Sociology and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences. With over four decades of academic experience, her research focuses on sociology of health and illness, migration, disaster studies, social theory, and qualitative research methodologies.She has led and contributed to numerous international research projects supported by organizations such as the Fulbright Program, British Council, European Union, and UNDP. Prof. Kasapoğlu has authored and edited numerous books and more than 100 scholarly publications and currently serves as Director of the Migration Research Center at Başkent University and Chief Editor of the International Journal of Human Mobility.
