She obtained her medical degree from the Federal University of Amazonas, Brazil, and later earned a PhD in Public Health from the National School of Public Health (Fiocruz). Dr. Benzaken currently serves as Medical Director of the Global Quality Program at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and works as an external consultant for the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). She has held several leadership roles in public health and is internationally recognized for her contributions to research, policy development, and healthcare quality improvement.
