Fernando Moreira is Full Professor at Portucalense University, member of the steering committee of REMIT. He established the Science and Technology Department, created its first engineering degrees, and served as department head from 2018 to 2022. He holds a BSc in Computer Science, an MSc and a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and earned his Habilitation in 2018. A long-standing academic leader, he coordinated the MSc in Computation for a decade and supervises PhD and Master’s students. His scientific output includes more than 325 peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed publications in international journals and conferences. He serves on editorial advisory boards, has organized numerous special issues for leading JCR journals, and is active in international conferences as chair, keynote speaker, and committee member. His research focuses on mobile computing, artificial intelligence in higher education, machine learning, and digital transformation. In 2019, he received the Atlas Elsevier Award.
