Dr. Nabeel Al-Qirim (B.S. Elect. Eng., PostGrad (IS), MBA, PhD (IS)) is a Professor and served as Department Chair in the College of Technological Innovation, Zayed University. He teaches and develops different courses in Information Systems and Technology (IS/IT) at both undergraduate and graduate levels (Master’s, PhD). His 150+ publications appeared in several Q1 and Q2 publications. His h-index is 28 and his interdisciplinary research interests covered different IT/IS topics. He authored one research book and co-authored another, and co-edited three books in Small to Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and E-Commerce. He led/participated in several panels, workshops, symposiums, forums, conferences, journal special issues and provided talks in radio programs and social media. He is also a member in leading academic and professional associations (IEEE Senior Member, ACM, AIS) and in the editorial advisory board of several journals. He is credentialed in several Arab and Western universities to examine PhD/Master’s theses and promotion files. He is involved in the community through participating in different academic and non-academic committees (i.e., judging local/international competitions, liaison officer, etc.). He has been in academia (UAE, Auckland University of Technology) since 1999 and before that he worked for 10 years in the IT industry as a Business & IT consultant (1989-1998) with different multinational companies. This professional and academic experience has shaped his teaching and research philosophy and approaches.
