Meghan Wendelken received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She worked clinically as a licensed speech-language pathologist in New York for approximately seven years. Her clinical practice primarily involved working with autistic children who were nonspeaking and required augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She completed her PhD at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on intervention for autistic children learning to use AAC, specifically language processing across different input modalities, neurobiological processes impacting AAC, and communication partner training.
