Juneyoung Park, Ph.D. is a Professor at Hanyang University ERICA Campus in the Department of Transportation & Logistics Engineering and the Department of Smart City Engineering, where he also serves as Director of the Transportation & Logistics Big Data Research Center. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Transportation Engineering from Hanyang University and went on to complete his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering major) with a Graduate Certificate in Data Mining at the University of Central Florida in the United States. After his doctoral studies, he worked as a Post‑Doctoral Research Associate and Research Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida before joining Hanyang University’s faculty. His research focuses on transportation and logistics systems, with particular expertise in transportation big data analysis, intelligent transportation systems, traffic safety, data mining, and the application of advanced analytics and AI methods to transport operations and safety challenges. At Hanyang University, Professor Park leads interdisciplinary research that integrates big data, machine learning, and IoT‑derived traffic information to develop solutions for real‑world problems such as accident risk prediction, mixed traffic environments including autonomous and connected vehicles, and safety optimization in smart city settings. He teaches courses related to logistics system design, sustainable transportation, and advanced topics in traffic and logistics, and he has published extensively in international peer‑reviewed journals and conferences. In addition to his academic leadership at HY‑TEL and the Big Data Research Center, he contributes to scholarly communities as an editor and guest editor for special issues in transportation and smart mobility research.
