Professor Dr. Bo N\u00f8rregaard J\u00f8rgensen is the founder and head of the Center for Energy Informatics at the University of Southern Denmark, an interdisciplinary research centre established in 2013 to advance the digital transformation of the green energy transition. Under his leadership, the centre has grown to encompass over 30 researchers across computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, and social sciences, working at the intersection of digital technologies and energy systems.<\/p>\n
A pioneer in the field, Professor J\u00f8rgensen is co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Energy Informatics journal (Springer Open) and co-founder of the Energy Informatics Academy and its associated international conference series. His research focuses on software technologies, multi-agent systems, and AI-driven solutions for the optimization and coordination of distributed energy systems, including renewable energy integration, grid flexibility, and intelligent demand-side management.<\/p>\n
Over the past 15 years, he has led or co-led major research and innovation initiatives totalling more than DKK 500 million in funding, collaborating extensively with industry, government agencies, and international partners. He is the author of over 300 scientific publications and holds three US patents in software technologies. Professor J\u00f8rgensen is a member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences and frequently serves as an expert reviewer for national and international funding bodies.<\/p>\n
