Dr Tlou Elizabeth Mogale is a Research Scientist at Centre for Global Change at the University of Limpopo, South Africa. She is an Agronomist by profession with the following research interests, agroecosystem rehabilitation through agroforestry, enhancing ecological agriculture, crop ecology, modelling and simulations of agricultural systems. Dr Mogale\u2019s PhD focused on promotion of Climate-Smart Agricultural practices for sustainable production of grain crops under planted and simulated conditions. The research study focused on enhancing understanding of the physiological basis for adaptation of sorghum-cowpea intercrop to a changing climate. Furthermore, the research strengthened the foremost goal of climate smart agriculture (CSA) which is sustainable food production while reducing GHG emissions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The information generated from her study has assisted grain sorghum and cowpea farmers in South Africa to consider intercropping as a sustainable system to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
